Hey everyone. Clay Goodman here. It's been a little over a week since I released my song Such Fun. So far it's gotten some streams, saves and kind words and reviews from people online and some really cool music blogs. This song means a lot to me as it's the first true song I ever wrote many years ago. I'm currently moving onto the next single I'm about to release which is called "Heartbreak". I just want to go over some of the cool things that happened when I released this song, as well as talk about where I've been mentally since I've been releasing music.
If you have been following along with my posts on social media and my interviews/features in music blogs, you may have noticed me talking a lot about writing this song years ago in 2017. It's a song that I've held to myself for a long time now. While it may not have reached as many people as I've always hoped for, it's felt like a weight off my shoulders being able to say it's out there.

It's been really fun connecting with people in the industry like playlists, magazines, etc. Some of my favorite features includes the feature of Such Fun in the iconic New York punk/indie magazine The Big Takeover. As Dave Franklin wrote, “Such Fun” is a delicate balancing act—dream-pop delicacy harnessed to a more urgent indie momentum, all while delivering the kind of accessible hooks that remind us pop music once knew how to walk the line between art and appeal.” Hearing someone like that say that about my song is really freaking cool. If you would like to check out the full review, click on The Big Takeover logo above, or you can click here.

I also had a really fun time doing the interview with Indie Boulevard. They asked some really great questions about my past, what inspired my song and what I plan on doing going forward. If you would like to check out that interview, you can click the image above or click here.
To close out this look back, I would like to give a shout-out to everyone who has supported me in anyway these past several months. Whether that be my partner, my family and friends, the cool people I've met on social media, the people finding my song on playlists and adding it to their libraries, the few people who have been gracious enough to sign up to my mailing list thus far, you know who you are. Thank you all. This year hasn't been easy, if I'm being honest it has been painful and exhausting. But no matter what happens, this is a year I will never forget and I will cherish it all.
Going forward, I do plan on releasing my next single “Heartbreak” within the next month or so. To reiterate, it is an early 60's Beatles sounding love/breakup song. Very sugary, very pop. It's gonna stay in your head for awhile. If you would like to be added to the Coolest Mailing List Group Ever, that's the real name of my mailing list, you might just get an early sneak peek. If you haven't done so yet, click here to sign up.
Thank you all so much for everything. The kind words, the encouragement and just for sticking around. Love you all. Take care.
